Greetings from Overseas - Karen riding Mirco
...this is my Haflinger Mirco aka Püschel. The video was taken last summer in Germany - I rode him for the first time in 2 years!

Karen on Folly
So blurry we may not be able to learn much from watching these. Sorry! I will try to fix this for the future.
Lucy's ride
I'm not sure why these videos came out so blurry. Dust on the lens? I will try to research it for the future. Sorry! And Sydney is right- we need to use the zoom so it doesn't all look so tiny.

Bloopers
These are too funny to leave out. Even though they are embarrassing.
Mostly I want to share them with Lucy.
(I just spent time trying to learn how to bleep out a swear word using iMovie, but to no avail, so sorry for including that in the video, but it does show you my level of distress.)
What you can't see is:
In the first clip, I was doing fine until I wanted to go left but Lexa was going right and I lost my balance. A key point to be learned here is- plan your route! Then this would not have been a problem. Also, Lexa's choice of direction was the correct one I should have been taking. Such a smart pony.
The great thing is- Lexa does not spook as I go through my shenanigans. She stays pretty cool and calm- "oh well, this lady is falling onto my neck and her feet are rising up onto my sides" whereas most horses would have bucked me off at that point.
Mara is the best- to teach at all levels like this (me being at a low level in case you didn't know).
It reminds me of teaching Alex to drive- "OK, you are going to want to slow down soon, slow down now, slow DOWN, SLOW DOWN!!, put your foot on the brake!, STOP!" Why didn't he seem to hear me?!
If it helps at all, I did spend all of today's riding time working on KEEPING MY HEELS DOWN.
The 2nd clip shows me trying to canter over a jump. I was focusing too much on trying to get the canter (Lexa would only trot) and therefore forgot to steer. As I saw the jump looming ahead with me veering to the left (rather than be centered over the jump) I knew it was not good. When I then saw us heading straight for the large post on the left hand side of the jump, I was very concerned (hence the expletive). Little did I know the worst was yet to come. As Lexa successfully avoided the post with a little hop, we then headed straight on for Karen on Folly. Luckily Folly did not overreact and Lexa missed her by at least an inch. Karen is such a good sport to share a lesson with me. She is an excellent rider.
